Current Project: Primary Instructor and Developer of the Canine Assisted Trauma-Informed Services Specialist Certification Course through Barry University. This course is designed to equip professionals to integrate canine-assisted interventions/services  into trauma-informed care. This immersive, 12-week training course is led by industry experts and focuses on building effective, ethical handler-canine teams through a lens of cultural humility and sensitivity. Janus Moncur, owner of Co-Creative Coaching, Counseling, and Consulting is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor (LCSW-S), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and Certified Human Animal Intervention Specialist (CHAIS).  She holds her Ph. D. and Master of Social Work from Barry University, Master’s in Psychology, Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and Associate’s in the Arts. She is an Adjunct Professor for Barry University. She has obtained additional training in Rapid Resolution Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, Animal-Assisted Therapy, National Canine Crisis Response, Pet Loss Bereavement Counseling, Developmental Play Therapy, and Level I Storytelling. She believes the continued pursuit of knowledge and understanding is crucial for personal and professional development as well as overall health and well-being.

Janus is a full member of the Animal Assisted Services International (AASI), member of Association of Animal-Assisted Interventions Professionals (AAAIP), and member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Janus started with her first partner, Mack and continues with her current partner, Pandora’s Peter Bear – “Bear” as a volunteer with National Animal Assisted Crisis Response as a Certified Crisis Response Canine team and Instructor.
